The S Family Session {Gigi’s Joy Photography: Waterford Family Photographer}

This family is no stranger to the Gigi’s Joy blog. Their first appearance was when I photographed Sofie for Stories of Autism in 2014. Then I had the pleasure to work with Savana both as a model and for her senior session. This time I came back for a quick photoshoot to capture the sisters and the family.

Families make a point to be photographed together far more often when they have young children than when their children hit the middle & high school age. I understand why – the young children themselves change in looks so quickly, and the family itself is still in the process of growing. But documenting those teens and tweens in the house is important as well. Their faces may not be changing as quickly as when they were toddlers, but their interests are constantly evolving. And if you’re watching closely,  you can catch glimpses of the child that they were as well as the adult they will become. It actually seems like the perfect time to document your relationship and the love you have for each other.

  1. What you said is so true!! It’s so important to get photos at all stages, and one thing that I’ve noticed with my own kids is that I’m so happy I have family photos that document my kids’ height— now that my 13 year old is taller than me, it’s fun to look back on how much he’s grown! This family is beautiful- love that swing photo!
